National Property Preservation Conference (NPPC)

What Is NPPC?

The full name of the National Property Preservation Conference is NPPC. The National Property Preservation Conference (NPPC) is a gathering place for mortgage industry experts, services, and investors to address current issues and establish future solutions.

National Property Preservation Conference

The organization achieves consensus and sets standards for policies and services through communication and collaboration.

The National Property Preservation Conference (NPPC) remains the primary forum for the mortgage field services sector to collaborate on how to best preserve and protect unoccupied and abandoned properties.

What Was the Beginning?

Robert Klein, the late founder of Safeguard Properties, noted a shortage of professional conferences dedicated specifically to property preservation in 2003. While preservation was frequently discussed at the time, it was always a small element of a broader meeting. Klein began crafting a plan to bring together all aspects of the industry in order to give an outlet for industry leaders to interact and innovate.

In November 2004, the first annual National Property Preservation Conference (NPPC) was held in Washington, DC. An intimate affair, the two-day conference drew leaders from HUD, the GSEs, mortgage servicing, and property preservation companies from across the country. Historic in its spirit of partnership, the conference gained the support needed to ensure its continued success today.

Safeguard Properties?

Safeguard Properties is the largest privately-held mortgage field services company in the country. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and founded in 1990 by Robert Klein. Safeguard inspects and maintains defaulted and foreclosed properties for a multitude of mortgage industry clients, ranging from small local loan servicing organizations to large publicly traded mortgage servicing corporations.

Safeguard Vendor Recruiting

Safeguard properties actively seeking qualified inspectors and contractors for the elite vendor network.  You may apply for Safeguard vendor if you want to make more money with your preservation business by becoming a repair or maintenance vendor. They have more experience in the sector and are generally reliable.

NPPC RESOLVING PROBLEMS

A lot has happened since the first conference. Major disasters, such as hurricanes Katrina and Harvey, destroyed communities forcing the nation to come together in restoring those hardest hit. The economy and housing market crashed and continue on a path to recovery, while municipal, state, and federal laws and regulations evolve and change, driving the industry to adapt appropriately.

While the NPPC continues to work through the fallout from these events and developments, one thing is clear: the NPPC remains the only forum for the mortgage field services sector to work on the best ways to maintain and protect unoccupied and abandoned properties.

From November 7-9, 2021, the National Property Preservation Conference will be held in person. In Washington, D.C.'s Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill
